The other day some colleagues were talking about how June is generally believed to have been named after Juno, known to many as the "Roman goddess of love and marriage". Which seems quite fitting, since here in North America, June is consistently one of the most popular months for weddings.

And all this talk about June and marriage and weddings suddenly triggered my word association inspiration machine (patent pending) and the result brought about this month's theme: engagement! Of course, we're referring to engagement of the employee kind, not the kind that precedes most nuptials (although both come from the heart!).

Our engaging highlights this month include info on how to pull your org out of an engagement slump and tips on how make workplace learning more engaging. We're also bringing you our first-ever reader survey, so we can better understand the kind of engaging content you'd like to see in the Jostle Voice.

Want to see an engaged workforce in action? Consumers Credit Union (CCU) is driving engagement by using Jostle's Discussions for social learning. They created a Discussion board that’s an extension of their employee phone help desk. Employees reach out to the board for ‘I need help with something’ and anyone can see what was posted and respond. It’s a phenomenal social learning tool without adding any staff. Employees are asking questions and others are responding. 

Everyone is able to shout-out and thank others which drives a spirit of gratitude. A staff of 300 employees in 22+ locations is reaching out for help and responding quickly and effectively. Not only are employees learning, they’re transferring their knowledge to one another. The CCU training team is able to see common questions/answers and insert more training into their new hire program or other development opportunities.
